making last summer's chicago theatre women lipsync vid was unique in that i was given the gift of spending oddly intimate one-on-one time with a few women i'd hardly ever spent any time with at all. each participant - regardless of how well we knew each other - spent an hour or so alone with me, her face cupped in my hand for careful red lipstick application, my fingers in her hair for styling adjustments between shots, and hopefully creating a space where each gal felt safe to release her sexie
