This pushes back the potential enforcement date from June 27th to September 26th. In the interim, abortions in Arizona are governed by a 15-week ban passed in 2022, which makes exceptions for medical emergencies but not for rape or incest. Reproductive rights groups are trying to get a constitutional amendment protecting abortion access on the November ballot.
