Horrible things, sometimes with actual tentacles. Al-Hazred glimpsed them, John Dee summoned them, HP Lovecraft wrote about them, and Alan Turing mapped the paths from our universe to theirs. It turns out that mathematics really is magic, or at least that aspects of it describe, enable and power magic. And computing power supercharges it.<br/><br/>The right calculation can call up entities from other, older universes, or invoke their powers. Invisibility? Easy! Binding lesser demons to your will? Trivial! Opening up the way for the Great Old Ones to come through and eat our brains? Unfortunately, much too easy.<br/><br/>That’s where the Laundry comes in. It’s a branch of the British secret service tasked with preventing alien gods from wiping out all life on Earth, with a policy focus on the United Kingdom. You work for the Laundry. In each mission, as a team you raid a building or a palace, with the goal of saving hostages, killing a target, retrieving data, or pursuing other objectives as stated on the mission cards.<br/><br/>Each turn, you have to plan your actions in a co-operative mode to move between palace floors, move inside rooms of the same floor, hack electric elements, fight enemies, and so on. Once you've planned the actions, you execute them and see the feedback of the palace: enemy movement, enemy attacks, new room cards being triggered, etc.")

In 2023 Carson played in 11 games and finished with 42 tackles, 29 of them being solo tackles. He led the team with eight pass breakups. <br/><br/>We got to speak to Carson after the pick and he was asked what the Cowboys are getting, “Gritty player. Somebody that is gonna do whatever for the team, play special teams, play nickel, play outside, so you got versatility. And just a competitive dude. I’m competitive by nature. My personality might be quiet but on the field it’s a whole different personality.” Carson told the media.<br/><br/>When asked about playing alongside Trevon Diggs and DaRon Bland, Carson stated, “Definitely. I’m ready to learn from those guys. Trevon Diggs, another Maryland guy, I’m from Maryland too so we have that connection right there. I’m just excited to really learn. They’ve got a lot of interceptions together. Thomas entered the draft as a redshirt junior, he anchored the left side of the line as a first-year starter at left tackle. Starting in all 13 games and finished with 25 knockdowns. He was also graded 80 percent or better in 11 of the 13 games. <br/><br/>Round seven : Pick 244 – The Dallas Cowboys selected Justin Rodgers the DT out of Auburn. Rogers is a big nose tackle prospect with the size and strength to occupy blockers and help clog up the middle. He has strong hands and can discard blocks quickly. He flashes the ability to push the pocket rushing the passer. He has 17 tackles and 1 sack in 2023, and made seven starts as a senior. <br/><br/>We spoke with GM and owner Jerry Jones after the draft along with head coach Mike McCarthy they told us that these were players that they needed and they are all great fits.")

_nfl-draft-2024-day-2-dallas-cowboys-picks.webp "Day two of the 2024 NFL Draft and the Dallas Cowboys have three picks before the night ends.<br/><br/>Round 2 : Pick 56<br/><br/>Round 3 : Pick 73 <br/><br/>Round 3 : Pick 87<br/><br/>The Cowboys selected DE Marshawn Kneeland out of Western Michigan for their second round pick 56. We knew that the Cowboys had two areas of importance on both the offensive line and the defensive line. The offensive line issue was answered on day one with the selection of OT Tyler Guyton. He will replace Tyron Smith, the Cowboys lost Smith in free agency to the Jets. Dallas lost Dorance Armstrong in free agency as well to Washington so the Kneeland pick makes sense, he will help with the loss of Armstrong. <br/><br/>Kneeland came out of Western Michigan University in his 2023 season he played in nine games and had a career-high 57 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 7.5 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, and eight quarterback hurries. Kneeland was named second-team All-MAC. <br/><br/>Also, Dallas needs help with the run and they have lacked in that department for a couple years…Marshawn Kneeland had a 99 percentile run stop % since 2022. <br/><br/>The Cowboys selected G Cooper Beebe out of Kansas State with their 73rd overall pick in the third round on day two of the draft. Dallas continues to prioritize their offensive line by grabbing another guard early. <br/><br/>Beebe was a First-Team All-American in 2023. He played in 51 games for Kansas State and started in 48 of them. His 48 starts ranked 5th highest amongst all wildcats since 1990. He was named 2022 and 2023 Big12 Offensive Lineman of the year, one of five players to earn the honor since the award started in 2006. In his career Beebe only gave up five sacks amongst 1,488 career pass blocking snaps. <br/><br/>The Cowboys selected LB Martist Liufau out of Notre Dame with their 87th overall pick in the third round of the NFL Draft. This was another area where the Cowboys needed some work, with the loss of Leighton Vander Esch to injuries it left an opening for opportunity. <br/><br/>Liufau finished his 2023 season as a second year starter for Notre Dame. He finished 2023 as one of the team’s top tacklers. Liufau had 44 stops while displaying his ability to drop into coverage (two pass break-ups), rush the passer (three sacks), and made tremendous plays behind the line of scrimmage. <br/><br/>Rounds four, five, six, and seven will continue on Saturday and the draft will conclude on Saturday night.
