_palestinian-street-artist-taqi-spateen-creates-mural-in-glasgow.jpg "A street artist travelled from Palestine to Glasgow to unveil a brand new mural inspired by his 'precious' homeland over the weekend.<br/><br/>Taqi Spateen brought his artistic talent to the city and created a large-scale mural in the east end - with its exact location on Stevenson Street near to Barrowlands Gate.<br/><br/>He collaborated with Ciaran Glöbe, one of the artists behind the fake Banksy which appeared near Buchanan Street last June, to bring his vision to life and will work with other local artists across the UK.<br/><br/>The artist is liasing with fellow creatives about the plans, both logistical and artistic, for the murals being created.<br/><br/>Graffiti art is a major cultural force in Palestine. In August 2005, UK street artist Banksy and his team painted seven large murals on a section of the 440-miles-long West Bank Wall, also referred to as the Separation Wall. Since then, the wall has gone on to become a hotspot for the graffiti scene.<br/><br/>Taqi has created many murals on the wall including 'The Boy with the Goldfish Bowl' - showing a child with what is left after the destruction of his childhood home - a series of portraits of George Floyd, and his collaboration with the brand The North Face 'Walls Are Meant For Climbing'.<br/><br/>Now creating and exhibiting internationally, he draws inspiration from the Palestinian countryside, particularly the olive tree, one of the most famous of all Palestinian symbols. His more recent paintings also include depictions of mass urbanisation and colonial settlements on his precious homeland.<br/><br/>Taqi's talent is being showcased as part of the Bethlehem Cultural Festival - set up in 2020 to put the artists, arts and culture of Palestine and Bethlehem centre stage.<br/><br/>The Festival’s creative director, Melissa Scott, says: \")

Randy Grubb, from Oregon, is well-known for building beautiful and unique chrome vehicles. Some of his masterpieces include the Blastolene Indy Special, Jay Leno Tank Car, Decoson and the $500,000 motorhome - the Decoliner. Inspired by the 1980s sci-fi space traveller Flash Gordon, Randy spent over $100,000 in parts and 6,000 hours in manpower on the stylised mobile home. Using the chassis of a 1973 GMC motorhome which sports a front-wheel drive, it allows the frame of the Decoliner to be very low to the ground, around 14 inches. This means that Randy had enough space to stack the vehicle as a double decker and for an additional driving position on the roof low enough to fit under most bridges and overpasses. Randy and his wife drove the Decoliner all over America, putting over 15,000 miles on the camper without being stopped for the unusual driving position.")

Sightings of these creepy crawlers have even been confirmed as far north as Maryland.<br/><br/>Earlier this year, New Jersey Pest Control warned about the impending presence of the spider in the state, and one ecologist told SI Live that it’s a matter of when, not if, the spiders show up in New York City.<br/><br/>Joro spiders are light enough to parachute through the air, using wind currents to travel up to 100 miles at a time, essentially allowing them to “fly.”<br/><br/>After spotting a Joro spider three years ago in his backyard, Coyle, an assistant professor of forest health and invasive species at Clemson University, sought to research the species<br/><br/>Even though Coyle confirmed that the Joro spiders are venomous, he explained the venom is reserved for the critters who get caught up in their webs.<br/><br/>“They’re not dangerous to humans,” Coyle said. “They’re super annoying because they kind of get all over everything and they’re, they’re more than happy to put a web on your porch or your deck or your carport or your landscaping. But as far as we know, there’s not been any instances of people getting bit or pets getting bit.”<br/><br/>Because they are not aggressive species, Coyle suggested a broom to sweep the spider and web away.
